Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage by the O. Leduc method
Manual lymphatic drainage by the recognised O. Leduc method. Gentle specialist massage to reduce oedema, stimulate the lymphatic system and improve lymph flow.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that specifically activates the lymphatic system. Unlike classical massage, MLD uses very light pressure and circular movements that follow the natural lymph flow.
The method of Olivier Leduc β a Belgian pioneer of lymphology β is scientifically grounded and used in clinical practice worldwide. It is particularly suited to treating primary and secondary lymphoedema and post-operative swelling.
In combination with compression bandages or stockings (Complex Decongestive Therapy, CDT), even chronic lymphoedema can be successfully treated long-term.

Frequently asked questions
Is lymphatic drainage painful?
No β lymphatic drainage is one of the gentlest physiotherapy techniques. The pressure is very low (approximately 30β40 mmHg) and the movements are slow and rhythmic. Most patients find the treatment very relaxing.
Is lymphatic drainage reimbursed by health insurance?
In Belgium, lymphatic drainage is reimbursed by health insurance for certain diagnoses (e.g. lymphoedema after tumour surgery, post-operative oedema) β with a medical prescription. We help you clarify the formalities.
